Footage shows hospital overrun with UFC fighters after devastating injuries and gruesome cuts mar Da

UFC fighters flooded a Las Vegas hospital on Saturday night.

Lightweight contender Rafael Fiziev shared a video on social media of him and two other MMA stars being treated following their fights at UFC Vegas 79.

Fiziev headlined Dana White’s latest event at the UFC APEX, but it ended in disaster when he threw a kick in round two and fell to the floor in agony.

Grim slow-motion replays showed his knee popping as he planted to throw the kick and he was carted off to hospital to confirm what appears to be a significant ACL injury.

Despite being in agony and facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Fiziev appeared to be in good spirits as he bumped into a couple of colleagues in the hospital.

The Azerbaijani shared a clip of him lying in a hospital bed alongside featherweight standout Bryce Mithcell and strawweight veteran Michelle Waterson-Gomez who were also a bit worse for wear after their fights.

Mitchell squared off against power puncher Dan Ige in the UFC Vegas 79 co-main event and picked up a unanimous decision win before praying with a bible on the Octagon floor.

However, he didn’t escape the fight without taking any damage as Ige managed to open a nasty cut above his right eye which was swollen shut by the end of the 15-minute scrap.

In the fight before Mitchell vs Ige, Michelle Waterson-Gomez suffered a similar injury when she fought Marina Rodriguez but was unable to overcome it and was stopped inside two rounds.

Both Mitchell and Waterson-Gomez were also in a good mood despite being in hospital.

Although they do not feature in Fiziev’s clip, two more UFC fighters were also in the hospital.

Cody Brundage was transported for a precautionary CT scan following his win over Jacob Malkoun who was disqualified for elbowing his opponent in the back of the head.

Tim Means also made a hospital trip to get checked over following his three-round war with Andre Fialho - both men walked away with a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.

Jake Collier suffered a cut during his fight with Kamaru Usman’s heavyweight brother, Mohammed Usman, but it appears he was patched up backstage and didn’t need any additional treatment.

White will be hoping things go much smoother when MMA’s premier promotion returns to Las Vegas for another show at the UFC APEX on October 7.
