In 2009, he made his first TV show appearance as Bruno Vilar Júnior in the telenovela Poder Paralelo (English: Another Power).
Rodrigo Simas brought to life the character of Leandro dos Anjos in the romantic telenovela Fina Estampa in 2011 and this role got him nominated in the “Breakout TV Actor” category at the Prêmio Contigo! de TV.
In 2012, he played the role of Bruno Menezes in the television soap opera Malhação and this performance earned him a Capricho Award nomination in the “Best BR Actor” category.
He auditioned for the role of Benjamin in the 2012 American romantic fantasy film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 but the part eventually went to Rami Malek.
